A best-selling author and investigative journalist says no one should be surprised that young Obama supporters would wave Soviet flags during election celebrations.
Dr. Jerome Corsi is the author of The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality. He spent the campaign warning voters of the extreme left-wing policies of the man who will become the nation’s 44th president. But he says apparently a substantial number of young voters remain clueless.
“I watched the people in Grant Park waving communist flags, having a dancing party [in celebration of Obama's victory],” Corsi notes. “These are kids who haven’t lived through [economic troubles and] don’t even remember Jimmy Carter. They don’t have a clue about high gasoline prices or an economy where we’re saying that we’ve got economic malaise.”
The author says young people like those in Grant Park have been indoctrinated by the left-wing education establishment.
“They’ve been taught socialism; they’ve been taught communism,” he says. “[Schools] don’t teach the economics that say that the Soviet Union is out of business because it was bankrupt. They don’t teach the politics that say that Stalin killed…35 or 50 million of his own people.”
Corsi says with the election of Obama, America unfortunately may soon be revisiting the dark days under President Jimmy Carter.

ell, what can I say, the American people have spoken by electing Barack Hussein Obama (BO) for their next president and now that he is finished with his eloquent, fancy speech (as most of his are), my first prayer is that God will give me strength and grace to not grow weary in having to continually apologize for him in the years to come.
Without a doubt, Barack Hussein Obama (BO) will NOT be a good representation of America’s ORIGINAL values in which we were founded upon; his judgment, leadership, lies, continual scandals and poor decision making will be a constant embarrassment to me and other true, patriotic Americans who believe in God, Biblical principles, personal responsibility, and limited government in our personal lives, our education, our business, etc.
I will never forget watching the TV scene of when BO came out to give his victory speech in Chicago, at the end of election day on November 4th, and the cameras gave us close-up views of the people in the audience. Their faces were mesmerized on someone that was not a president to them but a “Savior-type Messiah.” The vast amount of the people in that crowd, like most BO followers, indeed are looking for, and need, a “Messiah” rather than a president. That is their problem.
Since the vast majority of the BO followers have rejected the God of the Bible, they have placed themselves in a place of being “turned over by God…
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…” - Romans 1:21-22
“…And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;…” Romans 1:28
For sure, BO’s victory shows the true spiritual state of the American people and it’s desperate need for Biblical conversion and discipleship and spiritual revival. That is the bottom line.
The priority of the true believers of Jesus Christ in the years to come will be, as long as we are able, until that freedom is stripped from us, is still to:
1) Go and preach the gospel into all the world…
2) Make disciples of all nations (ethnic, tribes, tongues, peoples…)…
3) Continue to teach them ALL THINGS whatsoever Jesus has said unto us…
America, in the four to eight years to come, must have an awakening in the Church resulting in a new mobilization and raising up of Biblical preachers, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers (workers of every type) to hit the streets and infiltrate every sphere of society. All areas of politics, arts and entertainment, education, business, the sciences etc must be re-evangelized and discipled or America will be a memory in history.
So, as BO and the now dominant Democratic Party Congress join together in their destruction of America’s values and way of life in the years to come, may the true Body of Christ, wherever it is found, dig deeper for spiritual power and boldness, renew commitments to the Lordship of Christ and prepare for the many battles ahead.
Guaranteed, that from this day forward until the return of Christ (mark my words) Matthew 24 and 25 will become more of a reality of life for the believers here on earth.
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:4-13

2nd Darkest Place: Atimonan, Quezon
1ST DARKEST AREA:
In one of my former blogs, I noted that Brgy Isidro in Northern Samar was the #1 Darkest place that we carried the cross preaching through based only on our first limited impression walking past from the National Highway point of view.
2ND DARKEST AREA:
Well, I now have the 2nd darkest place on our 1,066 km walk: Barangay Tagbakin, Atimonan, Quezon Province. It was the Barangay (area like a county) BEFORE San Isidro.
IMPRESSIONS COUNT
First of all, the people seemed dark, non-smiling and fearful- un-trusting. They seemed like they were in a bad mood, not having "good days" - you know what I mean? We didn’t change any of our preaching or approach or anything compared to our first 44 days in prior areas. We experience this a lot - different "spirits" in different areas.
NO CHURCHES
I saw NO CHURCHES except (I think) a Baptist Church within a 20 km (12 mile) distance. No churches except for CULT CHURCHES ie: Iglesia ni Cristo, Mormon and Jehovah Witnesses. Maybe that’s part of the darkness of the area? All prior evangelism has been completed by "bad, un-blessed of God-type" churches. The people are confused and don’t want any more visitors.
SURPRISED
I was surprised by a group of about 10-12 men with ONE LADY sitting in a chair in the middle of a house within three feet from the edge of the road. I almost walked by until I got a glimpse that two men (like doctors) were rolling up the back shirt of the lady preparing for some-kind of therapy or massage. I stopped instantly and asked, "What are you guys doing there?"
The reply was, "Therapy."
I put my Cross into reverse and backed up until I was standing at the entrance of the door or the plywood house (I did NOT have my camera!!) filled will all kinds of "weird" catholic images, statues, and spiritualist (demonic) lettering and language on the wall. Of course, to THIS COMMUNITY, these images mean that it is a "Godly" atmosphere "of the Lord" but from my 23 years of experience of following and knowing the God of the Bible, I knew straight away it was a den of demons!
NOT MORE THAN A SECOND
Within a few seconds, I knew immediately that I had stumbled across a "Filipino Faith Healer" house within the first beginning moments of a SCAM, LYING, TRICKERY, DEMONIC, DECEIVING "faith healing" operation on this lady that (I suppose) had NO IDEA what was being "pulled over her eyes." I got so angry!
See FAKE HEALERS EXPOSED HERE:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PKXR7uoboc&feature=related
I GOT SO ANGRY
I got so angry, I started to REPROVE,REBUKE and EXPOSE with all authority. I started shouting at the lady, "They are LIARS! IT’S A TRICK! IT’S NOT TRUE! THEY ARE MERE MAGICIANS! THEY ARE NOT DOCTORS! GET OUT OF HERE! THIS IS DEMONIC! GOD HATES THIS!"
I REBUKED THE DOCTORS
Although they were NOT doctors getting ready to preform this FAKE operation, I rebuked them anyhow (there were TWO working on the lady). "YOU ARE LIARS! YOU ARE DECEIVING THE PEOPLE!" ETC ETC
I REBUKED THE TEN MEN WATCHING
Than I started to warn the "audience" of all men gathered to watch this "sight" this "entertainment." "YOU CAN WATCH THIS ON YOUTUBE.COM! IT’S NOT TRUE! THIS IS ALSO WITCHCRAFT! ETC ETC
SEE FAKE HEALERS EXPOSED HERE:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PKXR7uoboc&feature=related
THEY LOVE WITCHES
Of course, I forgot to realize that the place I was preaching loves witches. They think that "as long as they get healed" or their situation is bettered, they don’t care "by whom power it it done -" God or Jesus or demons - Who cares? As long as I feel better when it is finished!
LANDING ON STONY GROUND
What frustrated me the most, as I preached and warned and rebuked with such sharpness that in a "normal situation" would cause a fight or at least an argument or a reaction at the very minimum - with this crowd there was ONLY ONE MAN that actually looked at me with eyes like he was saying, "I will consider these things you said."
All others including the "FAKE DOCTORS, THE WOMAN HERSELF AND THE OTHER 10 MEN IN THE CROWD" gave me a mere look and then turned the other way. It was the most amazing NON-REACTION I have had in a long time! The worst of APATHY!
FASTING AND PRAYER
Some people might say, "Oh brother Mitch, these things can only come out and be broken through fasting and prayer." - Maybe you are right.
I DID NOT STAY
Maybe if I would of backed off three steps, and preached longer and harder and continual for the entire time they were gathered together in that "make shift clinic" - maybe and just maybe I could of got some response other than a "straight face" with "glossed over eyes" but part of our ministry is to "walk" 20 km a day preaching nearly continually from house to house, block to block, community to community as we follow the course of the highway. After preaching for the longest "60 seconds" like a machine gun I moved on to the next house…
GOD’S HIT LIST
I’ve included this Barangay on my 2ND DARKEST PLACES that the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST NEEDS TO GO. Not because of just this "fake faith healer" clinic but because of what I "felt" and "observed" during the rest of the 12 mile stretch. No light. No churches. No salt. Oppression. Darkness. No discipleship. No happy people. No good moods - plus a combination of many other factors that made me NOT ENJOY walking and preaching through this area.
PALM BRANCHES
I remember the last 15 KM walking into the city of NAGA in Bicol Province where the people on the side of the highway nearly put "palm branches" in front of us as we walked into the city with the cross preaching! Happy, excited, friendly, welcoming, interested, curious, people with personalities NOT like the people of Barangay Tagbakin, Atimonan, Quezon Province who had VERY LITTLE PERSONALITIES remaining. They have been ROBBED by the devil and by sin in their own lives!
WHO WILL GO?
Again, WHO WILL GO? Who will be an ambassador to areas like this? Who will re-trace our footsteps and the footsteps of Jesus that have gone before us to LIFT UP THE NAME OF JESUS in these places?
CONSIDER 2009
If you are a YWAM DTS graduate, consider our School of Evangelism in January 2009 as we take the CROSS once again to the Island of Samar (most likely) and other islands of the Visayas. As we prepare to graduate this April 15th, we are ALREADY getting ready for 2009. Join us as we PREACH JESUS to nearly EVERYTHING THAT MOVES!
On the Move,
Brother Mitch

TWO PRIORITY Places for YWAMers to Go …
After 300+ km of walking and preaching and visiting many locations in LEYTE and SAMAR, the TWO TOP PLACES I have felt need a YWAM presence is:
#1 TACLOBAN, LEYTE
#2 CALBALOGAN, SAMAR
TACLOBAN…
Tacloban is a HUGE CITY with NO YWAM PRESENCE and THOUSANDS of students! I spent 30 minutes one morning simply passing out literature on the sidewalk going to "Normal College" (that’s the real name!). There were SO MANY BRIGHT-LOOKING and ENERGETIC students walking by! I could not help why EVERYONE is not exploiting this grand opportunity for both EVANGELISM and MOBILIZATION and RECRUITING for MISSIONS.
There were SO MANY EXCITING things going on throughout the city. I would get lost every time I would walk around. To me, it appears to be the MECCA of LEYTE. All the peoples you would find in the farthest outskirts of LEYTE are in TACLOBAN. It MUST be on placed on YWAM’s TOP PRIORITY of places to pioneer with an emphasis on RECRUITING for missions and a DTS LOCATION if not a SOE location (that’s me!) in the future. No mercy ministry but AGGRESSIVE EVANGELISM and DISCIPLESHIP and DTS+. THAT’s it! Very specific.
I was NOT impressed with many churches I found here and there walking around the city and I would NOT make it a priority, honestly, to feel I needed to network with them that much if it was me that pioneered YWAM in the city. It’ll take too much energy and may not be needed. Go straight into doing what I mentioned above and the churches will "hear about you" and come to you (as YWAMers) without you having to go looking for them.
Honestly, being involved in all these "Ministerial Associations" is both tiring and time consuming and often diverts you from being focused. You can still maintain unity and relationship WITHOUT having to be at "every meeting" with the "church leadership" of the city.
CATBALOGAN…
I would of included Calbayog on this list BUT YWAM is already in this city with about 4-6 ladies working there already with a Center in location. Catbalogan needs to be SECOND ON THE LIST of Priority Places to target…WHY…
It is, after all, the Capital of Samar…
Although I did NOT get a chance to get around much in the city I did find it interesting as a GATEWAY to the SOUTH of SAMAR. If anyone from the South needs anything ie: supplies. products, car repair, parts, household items etc, they will go to CATBALOGAN. it does have MANY preaching locations and a lot of curiosity. We got LOTS OF ATTENTION when we carried the CROSS through the downtown area. It is a VERY RELIGIOUS CITY. I think more-so than Calbayog. Lots of seminaries and places of training for NUNS and PRIESTS.
I think Catbalogan could be a great place to EVANGELIZE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE and truly DISCIPLE THEM and then "send them away" to a DTS in either Tacloban or Cebu. It could be a "OUTREACH LOCATION" for "fishing" for real potential YWAM recruits and then send them else where for training.
I thought Catbalogan was more "conservative" and "religious" and Calbayog was more "worldly."
Those are my thoughts. I hope some YWAMer grabs the opportunity and runs with it! Next on our travels will be Northern Samar and than into Sorsogon and Bicol on our 1,000km Cross-Walk while preaching to nearly everything that moves.

JUST FINISHED WALKING…
I was the last one to walk the other day (Feb 24th perhaps) - I just finished maybe 10K and as a team we just finished over 33kms for the day. As the support vehicle went ahead to try to find housing and drinking water, I preached (what I expected to be the last time) in front of the restaurants in front of the bus stop. I had a great crowd of over 30 people. After preaching, my partner and I ate dinner and then sat down surrounded by kids and preached some more.
STEERING WHEEL BROKEN…
All of a sudden, Leslie (team member) arrived. She said the steering wheel on the vehicle was broken but God provided two mechanics within a few minutes to start the repair. We went to the location to find not just two but two plus about 15 assistants working on our vehicle!
As we removed the steering mechanism, the very crowded area grew to over 30 people of spectators! As some of the team members taught songs and games to the kids and told Bible stories, we continued to fix the vehicle - FIVE to SIX HOURS LATER we were finished. We thanked the two main mechanics, paid them for helping us and drove back to the bus stop where I originally preached earlier at 3pm. The time was now after 11 pm.
PREACHING AFTER 11:00PM…
As the other team members were preparing to sleep in the vehicle, some teenagers that were drinking invited me to join them! Ha! I started preaching to them how "I was a Christian and I don’t drink alcohol but how the Bible teaches "not to be drunk with wine but to filled with the Holy Spirit." Of course this created a discussion…
DRUNK AND ANGRY…
Within minutes a man (drunk) on his motorcycle pulled over to shake my hand. I confronted him that he should not be drinking too because it is a sin and will never have any authority to teach and train his children because of his double life. Well, of course, he got steaming angry!
CROWD IS GROWING…
He was one of "those types of drunks" that gets "sharply angry bordering on violence" when their tempters rise. As he began to raise his voice, the CROWD GREW. We were not at 30 people again and the time was 12:15AM in the morning!
TO THE RESCUE…
The rest of the team heard the "shouting" (mostly me capitalizing on the attitude and volume of the drunk and turning it around into an open-air situation) came out of the vehicle to my RESCUE! Ha!
They stood between the drunk and myself (on the elevated flower planter) and I preached away about "riotous living" and "drunkenness" etc and continued to preach for over 30 minutes until about 1am.
SLEEPING IN OUR VEHICLE…
When I finally decided to call it quits, we decided it might not be safe anymore to "sleep in our vehicle" in this area where we had a few "enemies" so we drove about 2 km away and parked on the side of the highway and took an "outdoor bath" at a well and went to bed.
PREACHING TO EVERYTHING THAT MOVES…
What a great day! We preached to hundreds of people today and dozens face to face while walking and carrying the cross for over 30kms through Samar! This truly is true Christian living! Being a witness for Jesus!
MORAL OF THE STORY…
Moral of the Story: "Never ask a Gospel Preacher to join you for a drink. You might regret it later when he refuses your request and decides to be spoil all your fun. Gospel Preachers make excellent party poopers!"

WALKING AND PREACHING…
We have now WALKED over 280 km (120+ miles) in 12 days with a 23 kilo (43 lb) CROSS and preached to nearly EVERYTHING that moves! From town to town, city to city we are continually preaching from our MEGA-PHONE driving by and the person carrying the cross is also preaching and greeting people 40-70% of the time including ANOTHER PERSON either in front of the CROSS or behind the CROSS passing our literature with contact information.
SLEEPING…
We have slept in our vehicle four times and usually have NO PLANS as to where to sleep each night. We simply "look for the nearest church" and if none, we sleep in the vehicle. Truly, this is about as close to Biblical evangelism as you can get. "Going EVERYWHERE preaching and proclaiming Christ!"
DIVINE APPOINTMENTS?
To those individuals who wait for "divine appointments" before you talk to anyone about Christ I feel sorry for you because you will probably not talk to many people in one day! The Bible says that "it is not God’s will that any should perish but that ALL come to repentance." Maybe it’s MORE BIBLICAL to PREACH TO EVERYONE unless God says, "DO NOT witness to this or that person."…???
ARE YOU LEADING ANYONE TO CHRIST?
Some might ask, "Are you leading anyone to Christ?" I would answer by quoting a friend, Ruben Israel, "Yes! We are leading EVERYONE to Christ!"
Ha! We are "leading EVERYONE to Christ" indeed! We are getting them "thinking" about heaven, hell, salvation, Jesus, Bible, truth, sin, salvation, forgiveness, repentance etc etc.
In Psalms, David says in Psalm 10:4, "The Wicked, in the pride of their countenance will NOT seek God. God is NOT EVEN in their thoughts."
With this in mind, I believe we should be doing WHATEVER SEEMS NECESSARY to get them, at least at a minimum, THINKING ABOUT GOD! This, in itself, is a step in the right direction – let’s call it "leading people to Christ…"
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you "leading people to Christ?"
I don’t mean leading people in some "sinners prayer" in which they have no idea what they are doing nor are they even ready to "repent and believe" but I mean, at least, getting them to THINK ABOUT GOD - moving from thinking about THEMSELVES to thinking about things that are eternal and of value?
WHY CARRY A 12-FOOT CROSS?
MANY PEOPLE always ask us, "Why are you carrying the Cross?" The answer is simple: "TO GET YOUR ATTENTION!"
If we just DROVE from town to town or WALKED from town to town, most people would NOT even notice us! But IF WE CARRY A CROSS down the highway, we’ll get the attention of about 70% MORE PEOPLE than the other options! That means 70% more people will listen to us at those many (15+ stops) stops along the way to preach.
Often, nearly always, I’ll stop (just by my arriving presence) an entire basketball game or some other community activity and 100% of EVERYONE will stop, quiet themselves and listen to what I’ve got to say! It’s amazing! What a glorious opportunity! We preach to thousands literally everyday, face to face, house to house, town to town, market to market DAILY! Unbelievable!
ATTENTION YWAM WORKERS!
To those co-YWAMers in the world who call "preaching or doing a dance to a crowd once or twice a week for 12 weeks an OUTREACH" - you are missing it! That is hardly an outreach! IF you call "prayer-walking" some city (without saying a word to people) an outreach or having "high-place worship" on some mountain or hill top overlooking a city (without saying a word to people) an outreach - you are MISSING IT!
BIBLE! BIBLE! BIBLE!
Read the Book of Acts. WHERE did they preach? To WHOM did they preach? WHEN did they preach? WHAT MESSAGE did they preach? WHAT HAPPENED during and after they preached? HOW did they preach? How close are we working towards true Biblical evangelism in our lives, churches, organizations, etc?

Mary the Mother of Jesus ‘Walked at least’ Half the distance around the world at the equator!
Jesus of Nazareth ‘Walked almost’ the distance around the world at the equator!
I, Arthur Blessitt as the Guinness Book of Record’s holder for ‘the world’s longest walk’ I have spent now over 35 years walking with a 12 foot cross around the world. By the grace and mercy of God I have carried the cross in 303 nations, island groups and territories. The distance is well over 36,651 walking miles (58,982 km). As a ‘walking man’ and follower of Jesus I of course have pondered over and over the life of Jesus and his lifestyle and travel. This also is true of Mary the Mother of Jesus. I feel that as you see the following facts you will begin to look at both Jesus and Mary in a different light. Most often Jesus is shown in artist’s paintings and film in a white clean robe and Mary in spotless clothes. I feel it is very important to see both Jesus and Mary in a true real life way.
I have never read, nor can I find any information on the miles they walked. To most it is assumed that Jesus traveled only a few miles from where He was born. I read a recent book saying Jesus never traveled over 30 miles from His birthplace. Another source says 90 miles. All such statements are inaccurate, as I will soon show. I begin this study alone with the leading of the Holy Spirit. After the first draft and appearing on T.V. Rev. Mike Ooten who has offered great insight to the fact of Jesus attending at least three festivals a year joined me in this historic endeavor. His notes are toward the end of this article.
Please consider the following:
Every devout religious Jew was to be at least ‘three’ times a year Jerusalem. “Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the Lord God of Israel”. (Exodus 34: 23) Foremost among the many religious feasts was the ‘Passover’. Surely both Mary and Jesus attended the yearly Passover. Remember in Jesus public ministry of 3 years He was once at “Feast of Booths” (John 7:2) in Jerusalem and once He was at the “Feast of Dedication” (John 10:22-39). He was in Jerusalem during that 3-year period at least three times for the “Passover” (John 2:13-22; John 5:1-47; John 12: 12-19). You have Jesus during His 3 year public ministry making ‘at least’ five separate trips to Jerusalem from Galilee. Under the law He would have made at least 9 trips to Jerusalem from Galilee. Five are listed but four are not spoken about yet surly He made them as required by the law.
Mary was probably carried to Jerusalem till she reached 3 years of age. Mary would have walked from Nazareth to Jerusalem and back ‘at least’ once a year from the age of 3 till the Jesus when she may have been about the age of 20. The one way mileage was about 120 (193) each way and thus it would be about 240 miles round trip (386 km). Mary Walking: 240 miles (386 km) per year from Nazareth to Jerusalem round trip x 17 years = 4,080 miles (6,565 km)!
After she conceived by the Holy Spirit of God she ‘walked’ traveled from Nazareth to south of Jerusalem where Elizabeth her cousin was pregnant with John the Baptist (130 miles, 209 km). She then ‘walked’ traveled back to Nazareth (130 miles, 209 km). Then with Joseph she ‘walked’ traveled back south of Jerusalem to Bethlehem (130 miles, 209 km). During all this walking travel of 390 miles (627 km) Mary ‘was’ with Child!
Mary, Joseph and Jesus must have lived in Bethlehem for about two years. Jesus was taken at least twice to the Temple in Jerusalem by Mary and Joseph for Circumcision and then again for Him to be ‘presented to the Lord’. (Luke 2:21-24) Let us count these two visits to Jerusalem for a total of 25 miles Mary walked.
With Herod the King seeking to kill Jesus an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and he was told to flee to Egypt and they lived there till the death of Herod. Then he was told again by an angel to return to Israel and they came to live in Nazareth. (Matthew 2:13-23) The normal mileage from Bethlehem down to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, through Gaza across the Sinai Desert and into Egypt to the Pyramids along the Nile would be about 350 miles (563 km). Mary traveled with the infant baby Jesus at about the age of two for 350 miles (563 km) through the desert.
Mary, Joseph and child Jesus at about the age of 4 or 5 walked (traveled) from Egypt across the desert past Gaza and Joppa along the Mediterranean Sea to Nazareth. Mary walked about 400 miles (643 km) from Egypt to Nazareth with Jesus and Joseph.
Living in Nazareth Mary would have gone at least once a year to the Temple in Jerusalem and back. This would surely have been at Passover or at least one of the Temple festivals. Jesus begins His public ministry at about the age of 30. Let us say they came back to Nazareth when Jesus was 5. For 25 years, Mary would have made round trips to and from Jerusalem once a year. Mary walked 240 miles (386 km) round trip from Nazareth to Jerusalem for 25 years, this = 25 x 240 = 6,000 miles (9655 km)!
During the public ministry we find Mary in Cana with Jesus. (John 2:1-11) Mary was with Jesus in His ministry (Matt.12: 46-47; Mark 3:31; Luke 8:19)She was present as Jesus was crucified. (John 19:25-27) The disciple John was asked by Jesus to take care of Mary. (John 19: 27) Mary stayed to live with the early believers in Jerusalem. (Acts 1:14) We do not know the full extent of her travels with Jesus during this three year period but she surely went to the Passover three times, traveled to Cana round trip (12 miles, 19 km) and Capernaum round trip from Nazareth (60 miles, 96 km). The three Passovers including a one way from Nazareth to Jerusalem = 240 x 2 = 720 + 120 (one way to Jerusalem) + 72 = 912 miles (1,467 km). Mary walked at least 912 miles (1,467 km) during the 3-year public ministry of Jesus.
This means the Mary the Mother of Jesus Walked almost ‘HALF’ the distance around the world!
An average of 20 miles (32 km) a day on all her journeys would mean that Mary spent at least 609 days and nights on the road in her life! This is a total of One Year and 244 days on the road in her life!
At the age of about two Jesus would have been carried by Mary and Joseph from Bethlehem across the desert to Egypt the 350 miles that they traveled. However as a 4 or 5-year-old child He would have ‘walked’ from Egypt across the Sinai Desert and on to Nazareth. Jesus walked from Egypt to Nazareth for a total of about 400 miles!
Every devout religious male Jew was to be at least ‘three’ times a year at Jerusalem. “Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the Lord God of Israel”. (Exodus 34: 23)
Please study the scriptures and notes toward the end of this article!
During the early years of Jesus from 5 to 12 Joseph would have gone to the required 3 festivals each year. I believe I can say with confidence that Jesus as a devout Jewish boy would have attended these with Joseph. It was required for every ‘man’ after the age of 12 or 13 however you count it.
Going from Nazareth to Jerusalem ‘at least’ three times a year for the Passover from the age of 5 till the age 30 when He begin His public ministry. This is 240 miles (386 km) round trip. Jesus walked from Nazareth to Jerusalem and back at least 3 times a year during this 25-year period. That would be 3 x 240 miles, which is 720 miles (1,158 km). 720 x 25 = 18,000 miles (28,967 km)
Before Jesus public ministry He walked at least 18,400 miles!
Jesus started out from Nazareth and traveled to the wilderness of Judea. While there He was with John the Baptist. Jesus was also baptized and tempted of the Devil. Then Jesus went to Galilee and was in Capernaum and Cana. This would be one round trip of at least 240 miles (386 km). (John 1:19-28 through John 2:12)
Next Jesus goes from Galilee to Jerusalem and returns to Galilee. (John 2:13- through 4:54) this is another 240 miles (386 km).
Back to Jerusalem (John 5:1-47) and return to Galilee for another 240 miles (386 km). Jesus is next again in Jerusalem for the ‘Feast of Booths’ (John 7:2) and back for another 240 miles (386 km). There is the ‘Feast of Dedication’ that Jesus attended for another round trip of 240 miles (386 km). Then Jesus does a final walk from Galilee to Jerusalem to be crucified. (Luke 17:11) This is 120 miles (193 km). As stated earlier and in the studies at the end of this article Jesus would have made at least 9 trips to Jerusalem and return during this three year period for Feast. Five are listed and four are not. Therefore one must add the additional four trips for a total of 240 miles x 4 = 960 miles (1,544 km).
Total Miles from Nazareth or Capernaum to Jerusalem and return is 2,280 miles (3,669 km) during His 3 year ministry.
Now let’s take a look at the other trips that Jesus would have walked to. Jesus made one circuit trip from Capernaum to Cana and Nazareth and return. (60 miles, 96 km) John 2 1-11
Another circuit trip was to Nain and return to Capernaum. (70 miles, 112 km) Luke 7:11
There is a very long trip by Jesus as He leaves from Capernaum and goes north up into Phoenicia to the cities of Tyre and Sidon (present day Lebanon). Then He loops back south around the Sea of Galilee and into the area of Decapolis and back north to Capernaum. Depending on which way Jesus got to Tyre and Sidon, the mileage would be about 85 miles (136 km) north of Capernaum. Then count about 120 miles (193 km) back around the Sea of Galilee to Decapolis then back to Capernaum would be about 50 miles (80 km). Mark 7:24-37 and Matt. 15:21-39 On this one trip Jesus walked about 255 miles (410 km)!
Then Jesus went almost immediately on another trip from Magdala up to the region and cities of Caesarea Philippi north of Capernaum and the Sea of Galilee in the mountains as it goes up to Mt. Hermon. That is about 50 miles (80 km) north so the round trip would be at least 100 miles (160 km). Matt. 16:13-28 and Mark 8:27-30
Again almost immediately Jesus leaves with His disciples on a trip to what we believe is Mt. Tabor (the mount of transfiguration) Matt. 17:1-13 and Mark 2:13 this walk would be about 60 miles (96 km) round trip.
The above trips are just the longest trips that we have a record of in the northern area of Israel as He based out of Capernaum. It does not include the short trips to nearby cities. Also it does not include any mileage for such verses like this; “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom”…Matt.9:35.
Time and again we see Jesus in other cities surrounding the Sea of Galilee and Capernaum I do not see any way that this would be any less that 100 miles walking total (160 km). So I will use this figure.
Now lets look at Judea and the area near Jerusalem. Not counting the trips to and from Jerusalem for Galilee lets look at trips recorded where Jesus left Jerusalem and returned from that area.
Jesus is in Jerusalem and then sends out the 70 followers to go before Him into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Luke 10 1-37 This is believed to be Judea. We then see Him back at Bethany then Jesus is in Perea, which is across the River Jordan. Then in Jericho and back in a big loop. Also there are many trips by Jesus from Jerusalem to Bethany and vice versa. Most of this is recorded in Luke 10th chapter through Luke 21st chapter. The area of Perea is across the River Jordan for a distance of about 25 miles (40 km). He went into Perea, which is very large. Let’s just say he went 25 miles (40 km) deep into the territory. It would be at least 100 miles (160 km) round trip and yet Jesus went into many cities and villages.
It would think the most conservative estimate would be to say that all these trips combined would be about 200 miles (321 km).
Total Miles Jesus walked during His 3-year public ministry is: 3,125! (5,029 km)
An average of 20 miles (32 km) a day on all His journeys would mean that Jesus spent at least 1,076 days and nights on the road in his life! This is a total of Two Years, 346 days on the road in his life! All these miles He walked by the age of 33.
The distance around the world at the equator is 24,901.55 miles (40074 km).
This means the Jesus ‘walked’ ‘Almost’ the distance around the world!
Please remember this! The above mileage concerning Jesus is the most conservative possible. Here is what John one of Jesus twelve disciples writes in the Book of John chapter 21 verse 25 “And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen”
Looking at the above mileage Jesus walked and knowing that He traveled much more than listed. I personally believe He walked the distance around the world that He had made with the Father and the Holy Spirit. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men! (John 1:1-4)
Without a doubt Jesus taught, preached, healed and ministered in more places and more often than listed in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I have chosen not to speculate or include any miles that cannot be reasonably backed up with scripture from the Holy Bible. I pray that this look at the walking miles of Mary the Mother of Jesus and Jesus will help you to see both of them in a more realistic and clear light. Most of the writings about both fail to consider how much time they spent walking and traveling in tuff conditions in the Middle East. Jesus walked the areas that now include the five nations of Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Israel and Lebanon.
Jesus walking and ministry stretched south to north from Egypt (Nile, to Sidon, Lebanon) a distance of 436 miles (701 km)! He walked from the Mediterranean Sea inland at least as far as 100 miles (160 km)!
May the Holy Spirit open our understanding to see Jesus truly as He Was and Is. God bless you in your ‘walk’ of ‘following Jesus’.
Again I welcome all helpful insights, or teaching on the walking and traveling lives of Jesus and Mary His Mother.
Should you not know, believe in and follow Jesus, I encourage you to pray now and invite Jesus to forgive your sins and be your Savior and Lord. Give your life to God now.
Let’s tell the world about Jesus! Go into all the World!
“The Glory of the Coming of the Lord is at Hand!”
Remember, the longest mile Jesus walked was the last one ‘to Calvary where He was crucified on the Cross for you and me! He walked the last mile ‘for you’! Jesus has ascended into Heaven and opened the way for you to ‘come on in’. It was your sins and mine that He carried to the cross so you may be forgiven and that you may know Him.
Dear Arthur: Here is what I have found so far. Jesus attended annually three great festivals the three most important Jewish feasts
John 7:2-10 describes a visit of Jesus to Jerusalem during the Feast of Booths. On the last day of the feast Jesus promised that any who came to him would experience streams of living water flowing from within (i.e., the Holy Spirit; vv. 37-39). By New Testament times, the tradition had developed that during the feast a priest would draw water from the pool of Siloam and carry it in a sacred procession to the altar. This apparently was behind Jesus’ metaphor. The New Testament also reflects the theology and symbolism of the Feast of Booths in its use of the term "tent" as a metaphor for the mortal body awaiting the glory of the resurrection (2 Corinthians 5:1-4; 2 Peter 1:13-14).
The Postexilic Feasts:
Quotations from prominent Biblical Scholars:
"There were three big occasions each year when all the ‘men of Israel’ were required to attend the national celebrations: Passover, Harvest, and ‘Tabernacles’. "
Zondervan Handbook to the Bible, ‘The Great Festivals’, Leviticus, P.190, Zondervan Pub. House-1999
"In the New Testament times all Israelite males were expected to appear in Jerusalem thrice annually, for the Feasts of Passover, of Weeks, or Pentecost and of Tabernacles."
The Illustrated Bible Dictionary” Volume 3, ‘Passover in the New Testament’, P.1158, Tyndale House, Pub.1980
"The feasts or sacred festivals, held an important place in Jewish religion. They were religious services accompanied by demonstrations of joy and gladness. The Passover was the first of all the annual feasts, and historically and religiously it was the most important of all. It was called both the Feast of the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the two really forming a double festival. This combined feast was one of the three feasts that all male Jews who were physically able and ceremonially clean were required by Mosaic Law to attend (Ex.23: 17; Deut.16: 16). The other two were the Feast of Weeks, or Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles."
New International Bible Dictionary based on the NIV, General Ed., Merrill C. Tenney, ‘Feasts’, Zondervan Pub. House-1987
" The Passover He kept at Jerusalem. It is the first after His baptism. Christ being made under the law, observed the Passover at Jerusalem. He went up to Jerusalem when the Passover was at hand, that He might be there with the first. Christ kept the Passover at Jerusalem yearly, ever since he was twelve years old”.
Matthew Henry’s Commentary on John 2:12-22.
Dr. Alfred Edersheim, the great Biblical Scholar of the nineteenth century bares witness that Jesus would have attended all three feasts every year until His death, " In strict law, personal observance of the ordinances, and hence attendance on the feasts at Jerusalem, devolved on a youth only when he was of age, that is, at thirteen years. Then he became what was called ‘a son of the Commandment,’ or ‘of the Torah.’ But, as a matter of fact, the legal age was in this respect anticipated by two years, or at least by one. It was in accordance with this custom, that on the first Paschal after Jesus had passed His twelfth year, His parents took Him with them in the ‘company’ of the Nazarenes to Jerusalem.”
The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, Volume I, Book II, Chapter X, Pp.235-236-Macdonald Pub. Company, McLean, Virginia
Dr. J.W. Shepard in his excellent exegetical study, ‘The Christ of the Gospels’ bares the same testimony. "Once only was the curtain lifted on the twenty-six silent years in Nazareth. Luke gives us one wonderful glimpse of the splendid boy Jesus, at the age of twelve, on a visit with His parents in Jerusalem at the time of the Passover. That was a critical age in the life of the boy, just turning to adolescence with the quickened growth physical and intellectual, and the expanding vision and idealism. It was exactly at this age that the Jewish boy became "the son of the law," and entered on the privileges and responsibilities of an Israelite, including attendance annually on the three most important Feasts (Ex.34: 22, 23). The Mention of Feasts as Related to the Life of Jesus
Closing thoughts: I find it most interesting that we find Jesus, at the early age of twelve to be in Jerusalem during the Passover. And we must not pass up the fact ‘that his parents went to Passover in Jerusalem every year “according to the custom”. Luke 2:42
Then we find that Jesus begins His ministry at the age of 30 at Jerusalem during Passover, and casting out the moneychangers in the Temple! Now why does the Holy Spirit include these facts?
Could it be that we see a pattern, a consistency? Is this not consistent with the Jewish law that every male must be at three feasts every year? And was not Jesus doing just that?

Feel free to e-mail Rev. Ooten or me about this study and offer us your input. There is very little that has not been covered in study in the life of Jesus. But how far Jesus walked has had little or no research done. We welcome your thoughts

This article and research has been prepared by Arthur Blessitt in a humble effort to give Glory to Jesus who walked so far on this earth for sinners such as me. I have walked the roads of this world with a cross for Jesus and as a witness to others. Jesus seems never to have been given credit for all His miles walked. I trust that this will stimulate more research on the subject. I have walked many of those roads Jesus walked and just want to give Him credit! I am sure He is smiling and saying “now get those miles correct”! Ha! It took over 2,000 years for anyone to focus on His walking miles but at last that day has arrived.
I love you Jesus! Thanks for all those Miles!

Debatable Find…
While visiting a "certain" YWAM center in the Philippines, I "came across" this old left-over schedule of a YWAM Team from "outside the Philippines" that had visited this particular Center for their outreach portion of their training. I took a picture of it because I immediately knew I had an illustration of a teaching I am always thinking about…
The schedule says, "Friendship Evangelism with Prayer Walking in the Park."
What’s wrong with that? Nothing. Paul says, that "whoever and wherever and whenever and however" the Gospel is preached - Praise the Lord! It’s better than nothing and I agree. This is good. This is holy and this is welcomed and praised. Anytime the church gets OUTSIDE IT’s DOORS this is a step in the right direction but it is not enough…
After 20 years in YWAM and observing YWAM-style of evangelism and leadership and team outreach activity, I have often witnessed that "Friendship Evangelism and Prayer Walking" is often a non-confrontational approach or "excuse" for NOT PREACHING the Gospel in a CONFRONTATIONAL way. This is my critical analysis.
Why does the outreach leader often always resort to "Friendship Evangelism" and "Prayer Walking" when indeed the team or the individuals should actually be on every bench or every corner or smack dab in the middle of the park "LIFTING UP THEIR VOICE LIKE A TRUMPET!? Why are YWAMers so AFRAID or HESITANT to PREACH BOLDLY in the open square? So many reasons to tackle here…
Actually, "Friendship Evangelism with included Prayerwalking" normally ends up into an activity of "walking around" and "maybe talking to someone" if the Lord sets up a "divine appointment" - this is about as old as the hills!
I have often witnessed that "friendship evangelism" and "prayerwalking" in a park is nothing more than a whimpy way out of actually doing evangelism in the BIBLE-TYPE of way!
In your face preaching and confronting sinners with urgency and passion like was a standard for YWAMers in the 70’s and 80’s. Now, OPEN-AIR PREACHING and PUBLIC PREACHING and CROWD GATHERING is even "looked down upon" or even considered a "no-no" or "taboo" or "does not work" or "turns people off" or was the "old way" or "we don’t do that anymore"- "we need to be sensitive to the sinner" etc etc. The excuses go on and on…
At the very most, a YWAMer <might> do a drama or sing a song or do a dance in the park and gather a crowd (good) BUT when it comes times to sharing their testimony "in between sets" or preaching at the end of the program - the preaching is not preaching at all but a bunch of "wimpy" not anointed, "come to Jesus", "He loves you", "has a plan for your life" washed down, man centered wash that won’t save anyone for sure now from their sins or most certainly keep them now and tomorrow or for eternity.
WHERE ARE THE REAL YWAM EVANGELISTS and PROPHET- PREACHERS that PREACH LIKE THUNDER in the "parks" and intersections, gates, entrances and exits, chief concourses of the world? Those that REPROVE, REBUKE and EXHORT (TEACH) their audiences about the HOLINESS of God, the REBELLION OF SINNERS and the terribleness of SIN and if man will not REPENT they CANNOT BE SAVED!
When will those who hide behind "friendship evangelism" and "prayerwalking" RISE UP AGAINST THE WORKERS OF INIQUITY and stop being so worldly themselves and ashamed of the Gospel and start PREACHING - unannounced, uninvited and often unwanted?

P.S. For many articles and teachings on this very subject go to:
Click on the "theology" link.
We are now in Davao City - 1,520 Kms later. We left Manila on January 4th and arrived in Davao City on Janaury 23rd - 19 DAYS!
Although we do NOT start OFFICIALLY CARRYING THE CROSS until February 15th, we have been doing evangleism ALL THE WAY. We drove through 13 provinces and DROVE through ALL 80+ towns that we will be carrying the cross through WALKING SLOWLY in February and March and April. We’ve seen the route. We’ve identified all the key preaching areas and towns and intersections, schools etc. We are compiling and typing all the data now and the OFFICIAL CALENDAR SCHEDULE should be available at this site in about 48 hours.
Currently, I am getting our vehicle all "primed up" with oil changes, radiator flushes, various underchassis rubber bushings replaced and some minor "fluid" things and we’ll be ready for the BIG TRIP soon!
We have many adventures, stories and times of preaching, passing out literature, film showings JUST DRIVING HERE!…WAIT UNTIL WE WALK HOME! WOW! That will be amazing! 1,200 (estimated) Kms walking distance!
Many times we have to repeat ourselves because 90% of the folks we talk to DO NOT UNDERSTAND that we are ACTULLY GOING TO WALK- WALK - (read my lips) WALK 1,200 kms with a 12-foot cross (40 lbs) (about 745 miles) in LESS THAN 60 days!
You must keep posted to this website for regular postings of videos, photos and blogs as we are able to keep up…ESPECIALLY AFTER FEBRUARY 15th- THE STARTING DAY of the actual walk.
We have about 6 others joining us for the first week of the walk through the island of LEYTE. That will give us about 9 actual guys capable of walking with the cross while the others rotate, preach from the soundsystems connected to our vehicle or pass out literature in front of or behind the cross person.
We plan on covering (walking) the entire length of LEYTE ISLAND in ONE WEEK.
Stay posted…
